Systems a home warranty covers
These are the big-ticket items that cost the most when they fail, and they're covered under our Platinum and Premier plans:
- Central heating: furnace, heat pump, ductwork
- Central air conditioning
- Water heater (gas or electric)
- Plumbing: pipes, leaks, stoppages, toilets, faucets
- Electrical: wiring, panels, outlets, switches
- Garbage disposal and ceiling fans
Appliances a home warranty covers
Covered under our Kitchen Plus and Premier plans:
- Refrigerator
- Range, oven and cooktop
- Dishwasher
- Built-in microwave
- Clothes washer and dryer
- Garage door opener
Age doesn't matter. A 20-year-old furnace or a 15-year-old refrigerator is covered as long as it works on the day your plan starts. No inspection is needed.
Which plan covers what
| Plan | Covers |
|---|---|
| Kitchen Plus | Major kitchen and laundry appliances, water heater and more |
| Platinum | Heating, cooling, plumbing, electrical and water heater |
| Premier | Everything in both: all systems and all major appliances |
Most seniors in older homes choose Premier, because the furnace, AC and water heater are usually the first things to go and the most expensive to replace.
What a home warranty does not cover
No plan covers everything, and we'd rather you know up front. Home warranties generally don't cover damage from fire, floods, storms or accidents (that's homeowners insurance), cosmetic issues, items that were already broken when the plan started, or building code upgrades. Roofs, pools and well pumps are usually excluded or available as add-ons.

How a claim works
Something breaks. You call our 24/7 claims line. We send a licensed, pre-screened local technician. You pay one flat service fee. If it can be fixed, we fix it. If it can't, the plan covers replacement up to the coverage limit. That's it. No hunting for contractors, no surprise bills.
